The day has finally come. Dosh Bot v1.0 is now available on our Discord server! My hope is that this will be the first of many releases. I built Dosh Bot so that it could be extended, and I have a lot of ideas that will help us build our community. For now, I’m happy with the feature set that we have. This launch period will give me an idea of what needs to be refined or built out. Let’s take a closer look at what this is all about:

What is Dosh Bot

Dosh Bot is a community and currency bot I built custom for the Alchemist’s Refuge Discord community. Dosh Bot allows you to collect, Dosh a community currency, which you can spend on rewards. You can also collect items, but we’ll talk more about that later. Here’s are some examples of what you can do with Dosh Bot:

Send a Hug

If you’ve spent any time in our community, you know this command will get some use.

Make a Super Chat

Are you excited about something? Do you want to drop some big-brain knowledge? Here’s a way that Dosh Bot can help you highlight your post.

Treasure Hunt

This is one of the coolest launch features of Dosh Bot. Each Treasure Hunt will yield an item that ranges in rarity. Some are common items while others are super rare and worth a lot of Dosh! During our release period, everyone on the server will get a free Treasure Hunt every week! You can choose to collect these items or cash them in for Dosh. Before you cash them in, let’s talk about the collectible side.

More About Items

These items are designed to be collectable. For starters, they have different rarities and values:

Common 20
Uncommon 50
Rare 100
Epic 300
Illusory 1000

When you do a Treasure Hunt, there is a chance that you might get an enchanted item. These have a special treatment on the image and their names are highlighted with sparkles.

All items can be enchanted. Enchanted items currently have the same value as non-enchanted items, but this may not always be the case. I have some ideas for Enchanted items, but I want to see how the economy evolves before making any changes to them.

Community Member Items

Early in the development, I gave my Patrons and anyone with the Ally role a chance to have an item in Dosh Bot. Those who responded got an item named after them with flavor text. These items will be exclusive to the Alpha item set and will only be available for a limited time.

Item Refresh

At some point in the future, the plan is to retire the Alpha set of items. They will be replaced with a fresh set of Season One items. Each time there is a rotation, the items available in Treasure Hunts will change to the new set of items. You won’t lose items from the previous season. If you own an item from the previous season, it will remain in your inventory. You will still be able to trade it or sell it. This item refresh will give collectors a new challenge and make room for new community items. Don’t worry, I will give a fair warning before this happens.

Let’s Get Physical

The goal is to allow you to convert your Dosh into physical rewards, like Booster Pack or cards. I have plans to do this by allowing you to buy Alchemist’s Refuge gift cards through Dosh Bot. This feature will be released once I get a chance to watch how the economy develops. Until then, I will be offering this physical reward:

Redeem a Juice Box Pull

The Pack Club fans out there know exactly what this is. Essentially, I draw from a 100-card deck packed with sweet cards and send you the card I drew. You can learn more about the Juice Box here. Alright, enough talking, let’s go!

This is just a sample of what the Juice box looks like.

Go and Collect!

Are you ready to give it a try? During the release period (an unknown amount of time) you can collect free treasure every week. Jump onto the server and type “>freehunt” in the(🤖)dosh-bot channel. For a list of all the commands, use “>help“. If you run into a bug, please report it here. I hope you enjoy using Dosh Bot as much as I enjoyed making it.

Good Luck, Have Fun!
